Our Intimate Sunday Wedding
All photos in this post were taken by our incredible wedding photographer, Christina Rose!
I became Mrs. Tanner Hughes on January 13th. It was the most wonderful day of our lives! Tanner and I became engaged in July of last year, so we had a 6 month engagement which was the perfect amount of time to plan our perfect wedding!
For all the details on our wedding planning, read this blog post from August :)
Tanner and I wanted a small, intimate Sunday afternoon wedding. We chose to do the wedding ceremony and reception all in one room, mainly because we got married in January, so it was super cold outside, but also because it really simplified the wedding and it really did feel so intimate - exactly how we had imagined!
We had our guests already seated at tables during the ceremony, and it went so well! Honestly, I was nervous about doing this because I had never been to a wedding like that, but I highly recommend it if you are wanting a ceremony/reception in one room and are wanting an intimate wedding. I LOVED walking down the aisle and all my guests were lined up along the aisle instead of standing in rows. I just can’t even explain how it felt to have everyone right there next to me. I had guests tell me they loved it and that they felt they were really a part of the wedding.. and I felt that too! It was just so lovely!
My sweet grandpa officiated our ceremony. It was so special because he married my parents, almost all my siblings, and a ton of my cousins and aunts and uncles! During the ceremony, we had our parents join us on stage to lay hands on us while my grandpa prayed over us. His prayer was so meaningful and it was such a special moment to have our parents up front with us!
Our reception was very quaint. We served sandwiches, wraps, meatballs, hot cocoa, coffee, and of course the delicious cake!
We made our exit with all our friends and family clapping and cheering for us! It was PERFECT! :)
