Welcome to Sarah's Got Style!

I'm a 30-something living in a little apartment in Tulsa, OK with my cats, Betty and Bernadette.  I graduated in 2010 from Oklahoma State University with my degree in Design, Housing, & Merchandising.  I currently work as a visual merchandiser.

I started Sarah's Got Style in 2016 as a way to share my love of cute clothes, baking, and makeup.  I hope you enjoy!  If you have any questions for me or ideas just send me a message!

DIY Make Your Own Christmas Cards

DIY Make Your Own Christmas Cards

There is something so special about receiving something that is handmade.  That is why I love to make my own cards to send to my friends and family!  Today I would like to show you how to make a simple Christmas card - complete with a super cute Santa Claus embellishment!  All the supplies I used are from Hobby Lobby in the scrapbook/card making department!

Supplies that you will need:

  • Card stock in the color of your choice for the card (I used ivory, but white, red, or green would also look great for the card!)
  • Plaid patterned scrapbook paper
  • Dark green card stock to border the plaid paper
  • Glue pen or glue stick
  • Santa Claus embellishment
  • Stamp
  • Ink

Step 1.  Using a paper trimmer, cut the dark green card stock approximately the same size as the card (Just a tad smaller is best)

Step 2.  Cut the plaid paper to be a little smaller than the dark green paper.  This will make the dark green paper a border around the plaid paper.   The smaller you cut the plaid paper, the bigger the border.

Step 3.  Glue dark green paper to the card, and plaid paper to the green paper.

Step 4.  With a paper trimmer, cut out a rectangle of ivory or white paper, and use the green paper to create a border around it, just like we did on the card.

Step 5.  Stamp "Believe" onto the card stock

Step 6.  Assemble card the way you like!

And that's it!! Making your own Christmas cards is so easy!  And whenever I go to Hobby Lobby and look at their huge selection of paper and embellishments, it inspires me to make all sorts of different cards!  I hope you try making your own cards because it really is so easy and it is so special to receive a card that is not mass produced!
